STUDY OF THE FUNCTION OF LANDSCAPE PLANT ON THE GREEN LANE OF THE ROAD MEDIAN DR. SAM RATULANGI JAYAPURA

Abstract

Dr. Street Sam Ratulangi is one of the main roads in Jayapura City, of course this road plays an important role in transportation routes because it connects the Dok 5 Atas area (in front of the Christ the King Catholic Church Dok 5) to Jayapura City (in front of the GKI Pengharapan Jayapura church building). So the existence of green lanes in the median also plays an important role, not only as a road divider but also as an element to decorate the city as well as the identity of the city of Jayapura. With the highway landscape, roads that seem hard and stiff get a touch of soft elements in the form of plants.

The median green lane locations that will be studied are the median green lane in front of the APO 45 gas station to the median green lane in front of Taman Mandiri, Jayapura City. The objectives of this research include (1) evaluating the function of architectural aspects, (2) evaluating the aesthetic function, (3) evaluating the maintenance function and (4) providing appropriate recommendations for the management of the median green belt on Jalan Dr. Sam Ratulangi Jayapura City. The methods applied in this research are: (1) literature study related to the scope of the research, (2) observation and inventory by dividing the median green lane into several segments, (3) analysis data, and (4) recommendations for lane development green median.
