Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of native soil in the Koya region and identify the most effective additive variations for improving soil strength. The research involved testing the native soil properties using standard laboratory methods and conducting soil strength tests with various additive mixtures. The results showed that the plasticity index (PI) of the native soil was 30.11%. After stabilization using pumice ash at concentrations of 9%, 12%, and 15%, the PI values decreased to 21.68%, 20.08%, and 20.48%, respectively. This demonstrates that pumice ash qualifies as an effective stabilizing material for reducing high PI values. In the CBR test, the native soil had a CBR value of 0.96%, which increased to 20.08% after stabilization with 12% pumice ash. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that the addition of pumice ash at concentrations of 9%, 12%, and 15% does not result in significant differences in soil stabilization levels or CBR values.
